CCMF 2024

Audition Requirements

All applicants must audition to be considered for participation in CCMF. Audition videos will be submitted via YouTube link in the application form. The deadline to apply is May 15th, 2024. Refer to the repertoire and level guidelines below: 

  • Strings: One solo piece of your choosing. Examples for violin and viola include a movement from a concerto (Bach Concerto in A minor and above); a movement from a Bach Sonata, Partita or Suite; a movement from a sonata with piano accompaniment, or a showpiece. Examples for cello include a movement from a Bach Suite; a movement from a concerto. String repertoire should be equal or above Suzuki Book 4. 

  • Pianists: One solo piece of your choosing. Examples include Bach Invention, One movement of a Classical Sonata, Romantic / Impressionist character piece (Chopin Waltz, Brahms Intermezzo, Ravel Sonatine). Repertoire should be equal or above the Illinois Achievement in Music syllabus Level 8 or Suzuki Book 6.

  • Pre-formed ensembles: One chamber music work performed by the ensemble or a solo piece on the member’s instrument as outlined above.
